opendaylight asked: I see you reblogged my cat post! Just thought I'd elaborate.

The reason I got her is because she's quite *anti*social (although she's 7 years old so is adequately "socialized"). With the steady addition of cats at my mother's house over the years, she only became grouchier and grouchier and was the bully of the house until a bigger bully came along. She...

Response to "What Our Sons See"
I read a blog called, Modestly Yours, and recently Cady posted a blog entitled What Our Sons See. With all do respect to Cady and the love she has for her son, I thought her post was a very feminine perspective of a male issue, so I wrote my own manly response to her post: Hi Everyone! I thought I’d jump into the discussion an give a manly man’s perspective on teaching boys about...

What do you think about single sex education?...
Yeah I’ve read both “Girls on the Edge,” and “Boys Adrift” by Leonard Sax and agree with a lot of his arguments for single sex education. One of them that I found neat was how if you change the way you teach certain subjects, his example was physics, to appeal to gender differences, then girls can do a lot better in the subject. The way we normally teach physics...

Excess TV, gaming tied to poor attention in kids -... →
Not that I am in anyway an advocate of video games, I thought I should point out the flaw in blindly believing stats.  While this study suggests that kids who spend more than 2 hours playing videos games are more likely to have attention problems, it may also be possible that kids who have attention problems are more likely to play video games. I’m not entirely convinced that it’s...

Failure To Launch or Just Crashing?
I finished reading Boys Adrift by Leonard Sax. Both Girls On The Edge and Boys Adrift were good reads. I thought Girls On The Edge was a bit better, but maybe I’m a bit biased because I’m a guy and we’re boring—Girls On The Edge seemed to have more content. But both were good reads! In Boys Adrift Sax uses the movie Failure To Launch as the model of boys who don’t...

the secrets we all keep: Crumpling. →
I stumbled on this post by a4d4 and had a few thoughts of my own to share about it. The past two days have been hectic and I’m trying to find out where to start. I suppose I’ll start from the beginning of it all; the reason why I decided to start this blog. Chad* and I have been together for almost four years now and for the most part, our relationship is average. In the beginning it was...

I was starting to get frustrated with Tumblr’s lack of comments on a lot of posts, but then I realized that you can just hit “Reblog” and type in your own comments on a particular post.  I guess that works.

What are these wiring differences you've so definitively concluded as being the cause for boy's difficulty answering this question? Isn't it just as likely the differences (causing the difficulty)...

Boys Adrift
The chapter I have just read from Boys Adrift talks about how education today is very discriminating towards boys. After reflecting on my own experience in the public education system, I think I agree. To use an example from the book, students are often given assignments such as this: Piggy from Lord of the Flies was the victim of bullying. Describe how you would feel if you were Piggy. This...

YouTube Not Profitable Articles
I am always amused by articles that claim YouTube is not profitable and is loosing money.  They always fail to mention that Google, who own’s YouTube, does not publish financial data related to YouTube for competitive reasons.  All the YouTube is loosing money claims are analysts guesses. For all we know YouTube could be extremely profitable.
